Who is this site for?

Golfers who want a straight answer about equipment without wading through marketing. A lot of our readers have been playing for thirty or forty years, know exactly what a good strike feels like, and simply want to know whether a new driver is worth six hundred dollars. That is the question we try to answer every time. We write in large, plain type on purpose.

How often is the site updated?

New articles go up roughly every two weeks, and the deals page is reviewed at the start of each month. Prices in golf move constantly, so every price on this site is written as a range and described as approximate. Always check the current price on the retailer's own page before you buy.

How do the affiliate links work?

When you tap a "Check the deal" button you go to a retailer through a tracked link. If you then buy something, we may earn a small commission. It costs you nothing extra, and the price you pay is exactly the same as if you had gone to the retailer directly.

Does the commission change what you recommend?

No. We recommend last season's models constantly, and those pay us less than the new ones. Several entries on our deals page are things we tell you to buy cheaply or not at all, including a fifteen dollar box of golf balls. If a club is not worth the money we say so.

Do you test everything you write about?

No, and we would not trust anyone who claimed otherwise. We read the manufacturer specifications, the independent testing houses and the retailer listings, and we tell you which is which. Where sources disagree on a price, we give you the range rather than picking the number that suits us.

Will you reply to my message?

Yes. Messages go straight to us and we answer within a couple of days. If you are trying to decide between two clubs, tell us your usual score and how far you hit a seven iron, and we can give you a far more useful answer.
